How We Saved The Test Match With Tenax!

When heavy rain threatened the off-pitch activities at the 4th Test against the West Indies at Chester Le Street earlier this year (2007), the Ground Protection team weren't stumped!

Mud at test match ground Torrential rain had turned the catering areas into a quagmire and worst of all, the beer tent was cut off from the rest of the ground by a small lake.

Ground Protection received a call from the Riverside Ground's staff and visited the site immediately. After a thorough review of the problem, we advised the use of Tenax GrassTrack, a polymer mesh with a textile backing.

Cricket fans enjoy beer with clean feet Within 48 hours, hundreds of metres of GrassTrack had been laid, textile side uppermost, covering the mud and providing a clean, safe surface for cricket (and beer) fans to move around the ground.

When the rain stopped, England went on to win the test match. Everybody had enjoyed the event and went home with clean shoes.
